Engagement sessions surrounded by greenery and all the cute plants… I could never get enough!

This was my first time at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens and it did not disappoint. Having just moved to the New Orleans area about a year ago, it is so fun to find and shoot in places that are brand new to me.

Ron and Laurén are a fun-loving couple who are dog parents to their Husky/Malamute pup Murphy (he even has his own instagram at @furphymurphy! Go follow him!), love a good beer and undoubtedly each other.

We started the session in the greenhouse towards the back of the gardens which is full of cacti, succulents and other unique plants. Since our session took place in January, this was an excellent choice since there is greenery and live plants year round while things are otherwise… dead and gross 🙂

Being the exceptional dog parents Ron and Laurén are, we made sure to get some of the “family” outside of the actual botanical gardens in New Orleans City Park. Murphy is seriously one of the cutest dogs I know, and happens to be best pals with my own dog, Kilo. If you’ve had the JOY of seeing these two together, you’d see how much they are two peas in a pod.

Finally we ended up doing some casual photos at Miel Brewery, a newer microbrewery and taproom in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans. This place was AWESOME. First, it is dog friendly, we actually had Kilo with us as well so the dogs loved it! Miel actually sells a homemade dog treat as well! This microbrewery also prioritizes using local ingredients when possible for their beer! Though Miel doesn’t have a kitchen, they do have weekly food pop-ups (think food trucks, but no truck 🙂 and their calendar can be found here.

Ron and Laurén will be getting married APRIL 26th 2019 and will be celebrating at the City Club of Baton Rouge. We cannot wait to celebrate with them.
