Capulet New Orleans is a Bywater wedding venue serving up delicious food in a modern industrial setting. Its pared down decor and breathtaking rooftop made it a perfect spot for Megan and Zack’s fall wedding.
Capulet New Orleans: A Bywater Wedding Venue
Capulet New Orleans is a chic wedding venue in the Bywater neighborhood. The former industrial space has a tall ceiling and mezzanine. A beautiful bar stretches along a wall under the mezzanine ready to welcome guests at cocktail hour. Capulet’s open floor plan has plenty of room for a seated dinner and dancing. Florals and fun reception decor elevate the simple aesthetic. The tall windows let in beautiful natural light during the day. During weekdays, Capulet serves up gourmet lunches and delicious drinks. The venue doesn’t cut corners on reception fare either!
The view from Capulet’s rooftop is so beautiful. It’s perfect for a golden hour or sunset ceremony! The warm orange glow of the sun sets the whole Bywater skyline in relief. When the wind blows in the right direction, you can hear the boats on the river. It’s a side of this magical city that people don’t get to see when they stay in the French Quarter. Capulet is especially great in the fall when New Orleans’ weather is its dreamiest.
Bright Wedding Details
One of the best parts of a fall wedding is the vibrant details! To elevate Megan and Zack’s rooftop ceremony, Herbivore Floral Designs created a twinkle light moon floral arch. Since the ceremony took place after dark, the twinkle lights added a little whimsy and romance. The twinkle lights and market lights over the guests glowed cozily. I love how that came through in the images.
Early on at a wedding, I identify a color palette that I highlight in images throughout the day. It creates a beautiful unifying theme that helps tell the story of a wedding day. Megan and Zack wove hues of blue and white throughout their wedding. The whole wedding day had a seamless color palette of shades of turquoise and cerulean.
Megan’s getting ready location set the tone with its sky blue siding and French blue shutters. The dark florals of her bouquet, including dark blue flowers, popped on the porch in the portraits, and they mirrored the blue flowers in Megan’s tattoo perfectly. Megan’s bright blue boots brought some fun to her otherwise traditional wedding attire. Even the couple’s custom neon sign at the reception was made in a striking shade of blue.
Everything about Megan and Zack’s fall wedding embraced saturated colors in a cohesive, tasteful way. I’m hoping a trend for weddings this year will be the resurgence of colorful details. This wedding definitely hinted that they’re on their way back!
Finding Home in Each Other
Although Megan is originally from the New Orleans area, she lives with Zack in Las Vegas now. Coming back to the Crescent City for their vibrant wedding felt like the right move for this ambitious couple. Megan is a labor and delivery nurse studying to be a midwife. Zack just completed his PhD in engineering. As someone who also has a professional degree, a Master of Social Work, I enjoy connecting with couples who have highly aspirational careers. Megan and Zack definitely fit that mold.
We captured so many intimate and loving images on Megan and Zack’s wedding day, but one of my favorites is the image of Megan snuggled close to Zack. This photo feels like home, which is what Megan and Zack are to each other. I really value being able to represent that intangible aspect of their relationship in an image they’ll be able to cherish for years to come.
In addition to being aesthetically on point, Megan and Zack’s wedding had some memorable belly laugh moments. When they had their first kiss at the end of the rooftop ceremony, Megan’s sleeve popped off! The couple laughed it off with their guests in a very pure and funny moment. Being present and rolling gracefully with whatever the day through them allowed them to enjoy every bit of it that much more.
