Maison de la Luz is a gorgeous, luxury hotel nestled in New Orleans’ Central Business District. Full of elegant but quirky details, this hotel is surely a gorgeous backdrop to any special day – especially an elopement!
Inna and Harrison, a local New Orleans couple, had their fall elopement ceremony just a few blocks away from Maison de la Luz. We met up at Maison de la Luz for their getting ready and couples’ portraits before heading over to Coliseum Square park for their elopement ceremony.
Upon walking into Maison de la Luz, you are greeted with details the feel reminiscent of old New Orleans meets modern luxury. The hotel prides itself on the belief that luxury is defined as moving through the world with grace, and that is apparent in the intentional details of this hotel.
Once we got to Inna + Harrison in their suite, the stunningly elegant details of the room are quite overwhelming, but still incredibly approachable. This space was the perfect backdrop for this couple to get ready for their New Orleans elopement. Inna wore an incredibly refined ivory pantsuit, while Harrison wore a heathered-blue, well-tailored sport coat. The pair together looked incredibly refined, regal, but still light hearted and approachable. If you’re looking for an elegant place to get ready for your New Orleans elopement, the suites at Maison de la Luz are a perfect option!
After the couple was finished getting ready, we bopped around Maison de la Luz to take some portraits before heading to the ceremony. One of my favorite spots is in their infamous light-drenched stairway, which truly was a stunner for portraits!
After finishing their portraits, we headed over to Coliseum Park for their brief, but intentional elopement ceremony. Since the couple lives locally in New Orleans, they were even able to include their pups on the special day!
The elopement ceremony, set in the heart of fall wedding season here in New Orleans, couldn’t have been a better afternoon for weather! If you are considering getting married or eloping in New Orleans, consider the later fall months of October and November – especially on a week day! Inna + Harrison were able to make a weekday work for their New Orleans elopement, and there are so many perks to do so! Mainly, you’ll experience significantly less crowds which makes for a much more positive photo experience.
After the ceremony, we finished our time together walking around the City of New Orleans. Our portraits feel nostalgic and reminiscent of a different time in New Orleans, which I feel like fits Inna + Harrison incredibly well. Their film photos are some of my favorite, and ended up being some of their favorites as well.
Lastly, we ended our time together with me handing off my film cameras to the couple to take pictures of each other. These are some of my favorite of the day, because being able to see each other through the eyes of the other is beautiful.
