Read on to learn more about eloping in New Orleans at Hotel Peter and Paul.

Why You Should Elope at Hotel Peter and Paul
Hotel Peter and Paul is a former Catholic school and church that was built in the 1860s. It has now been renovated into a hotel, but it still features many well-restored remnants of what it was. The venue is in the Faubourg Marigny. This area is known in New Orleans for its art, cuisine, and entertainment, and it’s also close to the iconic French Quarter.
One of the noteworthy features of this venue is that you can host both your ceremony and reception on-site. Furthermore, if you’d like, you can start your day getting ready in the hotel.
If you plan to elope in New Orleans, the historic church is an alluring location for a private, heartfelt ceremony. The church has high cathedral ceilings, colorful stained glass windows, and a captivating altar space.
Another reason I love this venue is the elegant decor and atmosphere. For your own celebration, you don’t need to worry about adding too much decor to make it feel special and align with your wedding vision.
Hotel Peter and Paul is an ideal choice for your elopement if you’re looking for a unique location in New Orleans and want a timeless backdrop for your celebration. It’s a fabulous spot for an elopement with just you and your partner or with a small guest count.

How much does an elopement at Hotel Peter and Paul cost?
Hotel Peter and Paul is an affordable venue for an elopement! It has weekday morning elopement packages that range between $1500 – $2500. An elopement package with them includes a 2-hour event including set-up, photography time, and breakdown.
If you are not planning to have any guests, the cost is $1500. However, if you are planning to have 20 guests of fewer it costs $2500.

Erica and Ali’s Romantic and Multicultural New Orleans Elopement
If all of this has caught your attention, here’s a behind-the-lens look at Erica and Ali’s wedding to help you picture what your wedding day could look like here!
I’ve had the chance to capture several weddings at the stunning Hotel Peter and Paul, but when I say that this couple’s energy completely filled and transformed this space, I mean it! This wedding was super intimate, candlelit, sexy, and unforgettable.
Background on the couple
Both Ali and Erica are physicians! For their celebration, they wanted more artistic-style wedding photos rather than standard, traditional images, which was one of the reasons they reached out to me. Erica, in particular, was very excited about having lived-in, intentional photos.

Their wedding
Ali and Erica got ready together at the Virgin Hotel, which seamlessly integrated their color palette into their day for a cohesive color story! After they were both ready, we captured some exquisite couple portraits at the hotel before heading to Peter and Paul.
As soon as we stepped into Peter and Paul, we were transported to a completely different atmosphere – one that was moody, elegant, and romantic. The space was aglow with candles, creating warmth and intimacy.
A deep red velvet curtain made the space feel full, and Kim Starr Wise designed gorgeous, overflowing, moody florals that elevated their sophisticated wedding ambiance. They had a single violinist, and it was the perfect touch.
Ali and Erica celebrated with just the two of them, and everything they did felt sacred and intentional. Their ceremony was set up on the side of the altar rather than the center of the sanctuary, and that really made a difference.
After doing plenty of larger weddings at this venue, this small change created such a different vibe that really captured the intimacy of this moment. It truly felt like we were in a world of our own, blocked out from everything else going around.

Ali and Erica’s multicultural ceremony and wedding decor
I love how Ali and Erica really leaned into the natural aesthetic of the venue. This truly is a beautiful venue, and all of the architecture and details that were put into the building itself were really able to shine in this moment.
Even though this venue is huge, how they chose to celebrate really made their small, intimate ceremony feel like it took up all of the space. With just a few candles creating a glowing atmosphere and some beautiful, deep-colored florals, they created an unmatched vibe for their ceremony.
Not only was the day’s design incredible, but I also loved how they tied in different cultural aspects to really make this day one of a kind for them. They ended up doing two different ceremonies, both at the same altar, and even though everything was set up the exact same way, they truly did feel like two completely unique ceremonies.
This is something that I love about elopements, too. It really opens up your day and gives you so much flexibility in what you can do and the moments that you can create. Whether you want multiple ceremonies or to explore a city after you tie the knot, the possibilities are truly endless.
The design of Ali and Erica’s wedding day is something that still lingers in my mind. I was elated to create photographs depicting every moment and be a part of their celebration.
